DuoSkope is a dynamic string duo formed by violinist Evin Blomberg and cellist Natalie Helm.
Founded in 2013, DuoSkope brings together violinist Evin Blomberg and cellist Natalie Helm in a musical partnership that explores repertoire in the classical and crossover worlds. From live performances of string duo repertoire to original arrangements and music videos that put a fresh spin on familiar works, DuoSkope aims to give the string duo a fun and engaging presence for a wide range of listeners.
Evin and Natalie first met while studying at The Colburn School Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, where they performed together often as a duo and as part of a piano trio. After graduating, their careers took them in different directions: Evin began working as a professional violinist in London, performing with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Philharmonia Orchestra, while Natalie became principal cellist of the Sarasota Orchestra. Even with several years and thousands of miles between them, they kept coming back to the feeling that playing together was something worth continuing - not only because they enjoyed it, but because it pushed them to grow as musicians.
When they finally joined forces again, they brought new experience, perspective, and energy to the duo. Their individual careers continue to shape DuoSkope's projects, and together Evin and Natalie always seek to share joy with others through music.
