 Founded in 2013…

…DuoSkope is quickly establishing itself as one of today’s most sought after string duos. Violinist Evin Blomberg and cellist Natalie Helm are giving the string duo a more vital presence in both the classical and crossover music worlds. From music videos of newly constructed arrangements of popular classics to live performances of almost the entire violin and cello duo classical repertoire, DuoSkope reaches a wide audience base.

Evin and Natalie met while attending the Colburn School of Music in Los Angeles, California. As students, they performed numerous concerts in both duo and piano trio form. Since graduating, both have been working as professional musicians - Evin as a violinist in London and Natalie as principal cellist of the Sarasota Orchestra. Spending a few years and thousands of miles apart, they found that playing together was something that must continue for each other’s musical growth. Joining forces again, they are stronger and more impactful than ever.

DuoSkope is on a path of success due to each counterpart having a successful career independent of the duo itself. While not collaborating together, each have furthered their career through various accomplishments.

Violinist Evin Blomberg has won praise as a soloist for her “virtuoso technique” and “commanding musical presence”. At the age of 15, Evin was accepted into the studio of Robert Lipsett at The Colburn School Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, California, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree at the age of 19. Evin continued her studies at The Colburn School as an Artist Diploma candidate, and graduated in 2015. After leaving Los Angeles, Evin went on to study at the Manhattan School of Music as a student of Pinchas Zukerman, and received a Master of Music degree as a student in the Pinchas Zukerman Performance Program. Evin has collaborated with many artists through numerous chamber music programs and educational institutions, with recent concerts including performances with Clive Greensmith, Viviane Hagner, Ronald Leonard, Robert Levin, and the Ebene Quartet. Throughout her time in Los Angeles and New York, Evin maintained an active performance schedule, and has also received international recognition as the 4th Prize winner of the 2016 International Irving M. Klein Competition. Evin is currently a violinist in the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and is the Founder and CEO of the Soli Music Society. Evin plays on a 1772 Joseph Gagliano violin.

Principal Cello of the Sarasota Orchestra, American cellist, Natalie Helm, has been praised by Fox News as having a sound that “catches the attention of the room" and "leaves a lasting impression". Ms. Helm enjoys a dynamic career as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral musician, and educator. Recent engagements include solo appearances with the Sarasota Orchestra, Dana Point Symphony, Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, and recitals throughout Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United States. These performances have been broadcast on NPR, iHeart Radio, Fox News, and PEOPLE Magazine. Music is a powerful elixir for change and Ms. Helm has embraced this idea through Upward Notes. As the founder, she brings musicians together to perform and create opportunities to bring positive social change to the communities she works in. Born in Louisville, KY, Ms. Helm began studying the cello at age eleven. After only five years of playing the cello, she was accepted into the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music studying with Peter Wiley and David Soyer. Ms Helm also holds an Artist Diploma from the Colburn School of Music where she studied with Ronald Leonard. Natalie spends her summers on Faculty at the Curtis Institute of Music’s Summerfest and Associate Faculty at the Sarasota Music Festival. Ms. Helm plays on an 1803 Raphael di Blasio cello.
